About the author

On a rainy day, when he was fourteen, Greenstone took shelter on a sidewalk. To kill time he picked up a book with a mystifying cover; it was on astrology. His life changed forever. Today, he has a systematized personal collection of over 13000 horoscopes, and life details, of celebrities and people from all walks of life. Based on his extensive research into astrology, he has propounded various methodologies to explore longevity, widowhood, wealth, fame, marriage, family, marital discord, sex life, careers, secret areas of life, travel and death. Greenstone is one of the few astrologers in the world to have concrete works on planets like Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Greenstone also makes predictions about politics, sports, and celebrity-related events. He writes a weekly column which focuses on sporting predictions. Training is his other passion and he has trained over 50,000 people.

Me thinks

This book was a huge eye opener in a lot of ways. In the manner how we all tend to believe our zodiac signs to be different than what they truly are. We have been so wrong till now.

Astrology as a subject has always fascinated me to an extent that I religiously read my daily forecast everyday without fail. I tend to believe some of it to be true and carry it with me throughout the day. This book was chosen by me for review purely for that belief. I was curious to read this one.

Till now Linda Goodman was the only person I had read but now I am adding Greenstone Lobo to the list. He has started with core basics and taken it to so much detail that by the time the book ends you feel as if you have undergone many years of in-depth research on astrology. That is the amount of knowledge you feel you have gathered. Starting from the way you look at people to the way you look at yourself everything seems changed now.

A very well written book, nicely presented systematically in various segments to ensure a reader understands all that he/she wants to. I appreciate the detailed explanations given by the author it becomes so much easy for a layman to understand astrology and the consequences of any thing written therein.

I would recommend this book for every astrology lover for this is one book that needs to be with you. It simplifies life and relationships to such an extent that you start believing in yourself more and starting looking forward to the magic the stars hold for you.

Foodie Verdict

This book is like doodhi thepla  - unique, tasty and mouth watering!

ISBN: 978-9395481205  Genre: Non-fiction Publisher: Vishwakarma Publications  Bringing together his experiences as a journalist and a keen observer, David Lepeska writes a raw and gut-wrenching book on Kashmir. Part memoir, part travelogue, and part reportage, Desiccated Land is a page-turner.  The book starts by tracing the history of the region along with his own history, as a student who was dimly aware of the history of Kashmir and the turmoil it has been causing for centuries between India and Pakistan. Lepenska takes us to Nilamata Purana ( likely written in the 7th century ) which tells us the story leading to the birth of this region. He also shares an alternate possibility of the word being derived from a lake ‘Mira’ named after Vedic Sage Kashyapa.  His first visit to Kashmir closely followed by his second (and much longer) visit as a journalist working for the Kashmir Observer after the 9/11 attacks, make for an interesting read. Lepeska had questions, a lot of them. An
