Since the time I began reading and then reviewing I always wanted to know what goes in the mind of an author. And luckily today I am glad to say that finally I got that chance. I am beginning with one of my favourite authors Ritu Lalit for being all that she is. A writer, an independent woman, a wonderful friend and an amazing mother to her children. Ritu Lalit is multi talented; she is a keen observer of life, a voracious reader, a parent, a blogger, an author and also an office worker. Chakra is her third book. When I first read ASURA my whole perspective towards the age old Ramayana changed. This Dusherra I saw Ravana in a different light. It made me think of things I had never thought about and yes this author was one I was looking forward to reading his next works. A decade back I was a confused teenager not sure about the choices I was supposed to make in life and where it would all lead me to. Adding onto it the fact that I was the only black sheep of the family who wanted to go the unconventional way rather than try venturing onto the tried and tested methods. Before you kill me for beating around the bush some background – I belong to a very conservative South Indian family where every second person is either a doctor (Not the medicine wala doctor but a Ph D holder) or an engineer. And here I was a mediocre student who detested the alphabet S purely for it spelt science. They all are either are in government jobs or are professionals having their own practice. So now tell me what kind of advice will they give to a 17 year old who has opted for commerce (while she wanted to do BCA) and is wondering what kind of job to take? Source: Google Images

For I see the effort that goes behind that book, the number of hours spent typing away, imagining, creating this story, drafting, re-drafting and then of course the long process of getting it published. The hard work shows in those crispy pages that I turn and begin my journey with the author. I always disagreed to this for I believe each one of us is a writer. We could be scribbling in our diary, blogging, writing poetry or having full fledged novels to our credit. We write and that is what matters. Today after 2.5 years of blogging when my first book is about to release ( You can read about it HERE) It leaves me with mixed emotions when the word AUTHOR is also attached to me. When I began writing 2.5 years ago little did I know what was in store for me. I began writing for the love of it and things just kept happening. From being a scared blogger who had a secret blog to someone who let the blog go public. From someone who could never write stories to being called as someone whose middle name should be LOVE purely for the love stories I write. From 0 to 100+ followers in one blog with 1 lakh hits and 400+ posts , it has truly been an exciting journey!
