About the Author
Amitabh Pandey studied economics at St. Stephen’s College and Delhi School of Economics. He taught economics at an undergraduate college of Delhi University and then joined the Indian Railways where he worked for twenty-four years, during the course of which he conceptualized, implemented and managed the railways online ticket reservation system at the IRCTC. In 2007, Amitabh shifted to the private sector and spent five years building business software. He now lives in Noida and writes full-time.
With a cute cover, that is perfectly minimalist and suits the theme, this book is promising from the word go. Though from the title it looks like a cliche romance, it is definitely much more than that.
Having developed a recent aversion towards romance and anything remotely related to love stories, I was more than happy to read this book which was refreshing take on love and relationships. I loved the simplistic writing style and a story line which was straight without much hiccups. It is the relationships and their complexities which added the much needed twists and excitement to the story making it an engaging read.
Though a book which has predominantly a love story at the forefront, has to have 2 primary characters as the main focus. However this is where the author scores a brownie point from my side, in having such lovely and adorable characters, both primary and secondary. All the characters are well developed and totally relatable. The story set is today's times is not about they hunky-dory things love stories is made up of, it is about the harsh realities of life and how at times we have to adapt to it without a choice. I like how it was such a practical approach to real life, that too without sounding preachy. The narrative is lucid and easy-going, much to the thrill of a reader for it entertaining undoubtedly from the first word till the last. It is a quick and short read, with a tight narration making it a good read for people who enjoy quick reads.
Strongly recommended for all people who enjoy romance but like me are bored of reading the same type of love stories. This has so much more to offer than just a simple love story, that it surely will be a perfect companion for a lazy Saturday afternoon.
