Behind a book - Ritu Lalit

Since the time I began reading and then reviewing I always wanted to know what goes in the mind of an author. And luckily today I am glad to say that finally I got that chance. I am beginning with one of my favourite authors Ritu Lalit for being all that she is. A writer, an independent woman, a wonderful friend and an amazing mother to her children. Ritu Lalit is multi talented; she is a keen observer of life, a voracious reader, a parent, a blogger, an author and also an office worker. Chakra is her third book. Her other two books are: A Bowlful of Butterflies published by Rupa & Co and Hilawi published by Popular Prakashan. Ritu Lalit can be reached at her blog HERE

Review : AJAYA- The Epic of the Kaurava Clan

When I first read ASURA my whole perspective towards the age old Ramayana changed. This Dusherra I saw Ravana in a different light. It made me think of things I had never thought about and yes this author was one I was looking forward to reading his next works. Imagine my joy when I came to know this very author is coming up with his next book AJAYA- The Epic of Kaurava Clan

Book Review: Ex by Novoneel Chakraborthy

Introduction ISBN : 978-8-184-00432-8 Genre: Fiction Publisher: Random House Price: Rs. 150/- ( I got this book from the publisher for a review) The only Indian Author who according to me has redefined romance as a genre by bringing in tragedy, thriller, suspense, mystery and murder with it delivering a heady concoction of a tale leaving you high long after you have emptied its contents. That is EX a twisted love story by Novoneel Chakraborty for you. Behind The book   Source: Google Images

A decade back I was a confused teenager not sure about the choices I was supposed to make in life and where it would all lead me to. Adding onto it the fact that I was the only black sheep of the family who wanted to go the unconventional way rather than try venturing onto the tried and tested methods. Before you kill me for beating around the bush some background – I belong to a very conservative South Indian family where every second person is either a doctor (Not the medicine wala doctor but a Ph D holder) or an engineer. And here I was a mediocre student who detested the alphabet S purely for it spelt science. They all are either are in government jobs or are professionals having their own practice. So now tell me what kind of advice will they give to a 17 year old who has opted for commerce (while she wanted to do BCA) and is wondering what kind of job to take? Source: Google Images

Book Review: Frankly Spooking by Sriramana Muliya

Introduction ISBN : 9350297213 Genre: Horror /Fiction Publishers:Harper Collins Price: Rs. 299/- As a reviewer it is a matter of immense pride when I hold a book written by a fellow blogger in my hands for review. It re-affirms my belief that dreams do come true provided you work hard towards achieving them. The author Sriramana or Sri as he is fondly addressed as is one of those bloggers whom I look upto in many ways. And most importantly for the person that he is. Sweet, down to earth, humble and caring. When I first came to know about his book and that too with none other than Harper Collins am not too sure if he did a happy dance as much as I did. I flaunted it to any who understood books, that my friend was getting published with Harper Collins. (Yes!! You need to believe me there. My entire office knowns Mr. Muliya now and has read his book too J ) Needless to say I had pre-ordered it and was waiting to lay my hands on it as his bl...

Book Review: I played a game with life By S Richardson

Introduction ·          ISBN – 978-93-83023-02-8 ·          Genre: Fiction ·          Publishers: Parlance Publishers ·          Price: Rs. 180/- ( I got this book from the author for a review ) Few years back when I had started reviewing I never had imagined the wonderful books I would be getting to review in future. Every time I see an author request for review or hold a new book in my hand I beam. For I see the effort that goes behind that book, the number of hours spent typing away, imagining, creating this story, drafting, re-drafting and then of course the long process of getting it published. The hard work shows in those crispy pages that I turn and begin my journey with the author. All that I am is a writer....

Source: Google Images When I began blogging I had heard it many times that there is a lot of difference between  bloggers and writers. I always disagreed to this for I believe each one of us is a writer. We could be scribbling in our diary, blogging, writing poetry or having full fledged novels to our credit. We write and that is what matters. Today after 2.5 years of blogging when my first book is about to release ( You can read about it HERE) It leaves me with mixed emotions when the word AUTHOR is also attached to me. As a blogger I have been interviewed many times but as an author this is my first time and "firsts" are always special. Nothing can be more special for Me than this. I would like to thank Gina Mcknight for making this experience all the more special for me by hosting me on her blog with an interview. A lover of words, paper, and memoirs - We ll this is what she has to say about Me; to read the full interview click HERE . Thank you so muc...

A moment in time to be relived

When I began writing 2.5 years ago little did I know what was in store for me. I began writing for the love of it and things just kept happening. From being a scared blogger who had a secret blog to someone who let the blog go public. From someone who could never write stories to being called as someone whose middle name should be LOVE purely for the love stories I write. From 0 to 100+ followers in one blog with 1 lakh hits and 400+ posts , it has truly been an exciting journey!
