Having heard a lot about the author's stellar debut in Truly, Madly and deeply he was topping my TBR for a while when I came across his latest release through Juggernaut. When I was asked to review it, I was nevertheless over the moon! Wishes do come true *grinning*
The book is an urban love story if I can say so. However the cover is something that doesn't match the underlying tone of the book. I was expecting a nice locale and some flirty romance before it all ends well for the couple once I had seen the cover. But the story doesn't have any of the locales or flirty romance. It has a couple, both bearing the weight of their past and haunted by the ghosts. The refuse to let it all go till they meet each other and decide to give life another chance but will they be able to start afresh is what the author attempts to tell us through this story.
What I liked about this book? The light hearted banter and the genuine attempt to turn the page and start afresh. It was a feel good moment to see two souls trying so hard to let the past just be and move on in their lives struggling with their present. The last few pages were a perfect roller coaster ride which makes you think how far will you go for the one you love. The ending though abrupt does seem appropriate for an urban romance as it leaves a lot for the readers imagination.
Recommended for its breezy narrative, refreshing setting and simple yet touching story!
