I don’t think I have ever underlined silences the way I did while reading Eighteen Inches Apart.  I have followed Sonia Bahl’s writing long enough to know her gift is not just in telling stories, but in listening to silences, the unsaid, and the fragile tremors between people who almost touch but don’t. And here, once again, she writes in that delicate space of the eighteen inches between two hearts, a glance and a goodbye, and between what we carry and what we dare to release.  Reading this felt like sitting by a window on a slow afternoon, watching light shift across familiar objects and realizing they were never quite as ordinary as they seemed. There is warmth here, along with an ache that settles deep, like the echo of something you once lost and are only now beginning to understand. 

Today, we have a very interesting author with us talking about life and love at large.  Before I introduce her to you, I would like to share a small brief about our first interaction almost a year and a half ago. As a book blogger, am sure you all would agree we keep getting review requests from authors on and off. What set her review request apart from all the others ( And here I mean almost all emails I have got since 2011 till date! ) is the fact that she had taken the effort to go through my entire blog, including my bio, read a few reviews and everything that I had to say here which could be construed as important. Never ever have I received such an beautifully personalized email. It is as if she could read through my bio and see the person behind it. Times when you want to say, but are scared to say and still want to be understood. Where you want to belong but want to be free too and can't define this exact complex feeling. This book is that 'in-between' for me. I simply cannot put in words my exact emotions after having read it. It talks about the intricacies of life, dreams, desires, relationships and a lot of other things so beautifully that you want to hug the book just to feel the warmth it manages to emote through its words.
