A compelling page-turner that traces one woman’s political career in the world’s most dynamic democracy.
On 12 April 2015, casting herself as the champion of the common American, Hillary Clinton formally announced her intention to run for President in 2016. With her core principles unchanged, Hillary seems all set to secure the one role she has long desired.
What drives this most intriguing and polarizing of political figures? Will she be able to shake off the past and finally emerge a winner? What are her chances of winning the title? And most importantly, what kind of President would she make? The questions are endless.
Drawing on original interviews with close associates of both Bill and Hillary, as well as a wealth of recently declassified materials from the Clinton archive, James D. Boys offers a clear-sighted and non-partisan analysis of Hillary’s rise to the pinnacle of American politics.

Me thinks
Me thinks
I have always taken a very active interest in Global politics due to various reasons as mentioned many a times in my previous reviews. I adore Barack Obama, just the way I like Narendra Modi. I firmly believe they are the game changers, the people who not only dared to want a change but also decided to be the change they want to see. I will remember Barack Obama very fondly forever after all that he has done in his tenure as the President of World's Superpower called United States of America - a place that was considered a dreamland till few years ago for decades. I have grown up at a time when I was surrounded by a generation which thrived on the Great American dream which sadly I failed to see at that time but today I can see it, through Barack Obama's eyes.
One of the core reasons why I wanted to read this book was this. I have closely followed Bill Clinton and his controversy along with his gains and losses as a President. It was very fascinating for me to read about the story behind Hillary Clinton's meteoric rise in this book. Covering a lot of already known facts and mixing them with lesser known ones this book was enthralling.
The very fact that the author has studied Political studies in depth adds volume to the book which is primarily a result of his detailed research. Many times when biographies are written they tend to become a collection of various articles on the said person without any proper narrative leaving it all to the readers' imagination. This book is a refreshing change from such biographies. We not only have a narrative but we also have a story, a plot and lot of details which are not mere reproduction of newspaper headlines. The language is very simple and lucid, one that every reader can connect with. Few facts mentioned therein do come across as startling but as you proceed ahead you conclude that those things seem to be the most natural thing to do at that time given those circumstances.
A recommended read for people who enjoy politics, international affairs and such reads - majorly because of the research and also because the author has presented the facts in a manner that will make you sit up and take notice of a lot of things which otherwise would have felt unnoticed by you.
