About the author
Aarti V Raman dabbles in romantic thrillers and contemporary romance in pursuit of that perfect story. Happy Ever After are her three favourite words in the English lexicon. Aarti went on to study Creative and Professional Writing at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. She has a strong background in commercial content writing and copy editing. Aarti's ambition of honing her craft and writing stories, particularly romances with strong characters and stronger plots that remain etched in the reader's minds, grew when she sold her first novel White Knight, in 2012. This ambition has only been fuelled with the lovely response to her second romantic thriller Kingdom Come, in 2014.
Having read the author's previous book I was looking forward to her book. With a lot of excitement I flipped through the pages ready to drown in romance and happily ever after love story.
But wait... With You I Dance is not a typical love story of a boy meet girl type. It is a unique love story where the author takes you through a journey of falling in love with yourself. She teaches us to accept ourselves the way we are with all our flaws and yet be proud of it completely.
Usually I love her heroes but in this book she made me fall in love with her heroine instead. I could connect with her so much, she was fragile, broken, shattered and yet devastating beautiful in her flaws and that's what made her so connectable. The point where the author scores brownie point is the simplicity in the plot that she has managed to retain till the end and play with high emotions throughout ensuring a tear jerker of a book.
I laughed, I cried, felt sad and felt proud of Meera by the end of the book. She felt like an extension of you, me and every woman these days who are at times buried under the societal / parental pressure and has to bury her dreams because of it. She manages to not only stand up for herself but she also manages to succeed in achieving her dreams.
