While her B-School batch mates are busy scrambling for top jobs and grades, a restless Sarika dreams of putting on her running shoes and having all the pages of her passport stamped by the age of thirty.

What follows is a frenzied quest of not just collecting stamps but ticking off items off her ever-expanding bucket list: From learning the local language in Spain to an alcohol trail through Greece; from a tryst with Shakespeare and Jane Austen in the United Kingdom to an encounter with the Vampire in Romania; from straddling the border between two countries in the Middle East to a road trip through Morocco to the Sahara; each experience bringing her just a little closer to reaching that final destination on her passport.

A journey of falling in love with globetrotting--this one promises to be one of the best roller-coaster reading experiences you will have this year.

Me thinks

This book looked promising from the title itself. Being a travel enthusiast, a writer, a reader and most importantly a girl who will be approaching her thirties soon there were more than one ways I connected with this book.

The author has done a mind blowing job and this book for me is like a dream come true. It made me want to quit everything that I have right now on my plans and just push those travel plans on the top priority list.

I loved the description of each and every place the author has given in the book. She has actually made each and every place come alive in her words. Ofcourse I would have loved it more had the book had more of the pictures in colour for they somehow seem to lose their charm in black and white.

Usually when you read such books it seems to talk more about the places and less about the emotions of a person visiting, but in this book the author has ensured that apart from talking about the beauty of the places she has spoken about the emotions of the visitor there in right doses making it a perfect read. She has made the places come alive in her words. For me the favourite would be the literary travel the author did with her sister.

It is a highly recommended book for all travel enthusiasts. A very well written book in the form of a travelogue and kudos to the author for such an excellent debut! She has used a very light connectable breezy flow throughout the book making it a very delightful read and sprinkled it liberally with her amazing sense of humour. This makes the book a must read.

Foodie Verdict

This book is like thandai ice-cream - deliciously different!

Book Review: Palestine Wail - Poems by Yahia Lababidi

In Palestine Wail: Poems , Yahia Lababidi creates a profound and unflinching exploration of the ongoing Palestinian crisis, drawing from his own heritage and heartbreak to reflect on a political and humanitarian catastrophe that has unfolded across decades. This collection, imbued with personal history, political outrage, and spiritual contemplation, serves as both a witness to injustice and a call to humanity. The work’s origins lie deeply in Lababidi’s own roots—his Palestinian grandmother, Rabiha Dajani, was forced to flee Jerusalem at gunpoint, a traumatic event that reverberates throughout Lababidi’s poetry.  As an Arab-American writer, Lababidi is uniquely positioned to speak on the intersection of identity, politics, and human rights. His poetry, both personal and political, draws a clear line between the suffering of the Palestinian people and the complicity of global powers in perpetuating that suffering. Through his words, Lababidi eloquently counters the equation that Zioni
