Variety is the flavor of life. The same only
simple stuff does get boring at times. In the recent times where the markets
are flooded with books on love, college, budding romances, friendship, campus
lives etc Ten Shades of Life comes as a breath of fresh air with the variety of
stories it brings along with it in a single package.

About the author
This book is a collection of ten short
stories written by aspiring authors who happen to be the winners of a contest
conducted by Fablery. The book has been edited by Nethra A whose brainchild was
Fablery.
Me thinks
Different yes – it definitely is. With
anthologies generally trying to stick to one genre , the editor Nethra has
tried bringing along a variety of genres in one book and named it aptly Ten
Shades of Life. I was very keen to read this one especially because it has some
of my blogger mentioned therein who have got published. And when Reshmy
contacted me requesting for a review I was more than happy to grab this
opportunity.
Each and every story is like a gem carefully
chosen after rounds of thorough inspection by the editor making this collection
one enjoyable read. Unlike the usual books available in the market off late
this book does not have any typos or grammatical errors which feel like a
blessing as it makes a breezy read.
I enjoyed reading each of the stories though
I would say I did not begin in a
systematic manner as I was curious to read works of people I knew and hence
started reading randomly as per the name of the authors.
It feels really overwhelming to see bloggers
get such wonderful opportunities in today’s time which goes to prove the
importance of internet in today’s world.
Despite the stories being nice and well written the one thing which
bothered me was I wanted to know more about the authors which was completely
missing here. There was no author’s bio or introduction making the reader feel
a little bit disconnected with the author. I strongly believe it is very
imperative for a reader to connect to the author at some level to enjoy the
story without which it is difficult to actually read the story and enjoy it
too.
Though very difficult to chose the best from
the best if I had to pick up my favourites out of all of them they would be
- · Red and Gold – Monika Pant
- · Harry’s Bluff – Dr. Roshan Radhakrishnan
- · Where did you go? -Deepa Duraiswamy
- · The secret of the Ahiraah - Reshmy Pillai
I loved them for no other reason but the
narration of their stories. They were soul stirring and heart touching.Definitely a must read for people who love
reading all types of genres as here each one will find a match of his taste!
