Me thinks

I have very few science fiction till now as it is not a subject am too comfortable with. This is perhaps the third or the fourth collection of sci-fi short stories. And to be honest I thoroughly enjoyed this collection. I was skeptical when I began but at the end of it all I was grinning as if I had found a hidden treasure. What is so different about them you may ask. They are seemingly common and possible but when seen closely you notice their uniqueness.
Though a debut work, the writing is very crisp as is needed in writing science fiction and author does a splendid job there. The stories as the book progresses get deeper and deeper which is a very great sign of an author as he knows how to engross a reader till the last page. I like the grip that the author has on his readers when it comes to narration and that is what makes the book stand out till the last page.

For a debut this is commendable.  The author surely is promising with this book and raises the expectations from a reader for all the coming books post this one. Recommended for sci-fi lovers! There are a lot of surprises in store for you here, believe me.

Foodie Verdict

This book is like broccoli & potato stir fry - a melange of flavours leaving you wondering what you ate! (Read)

Books on Cinema

For a long time, cinema was a world I wasn’t allowed to enter. I grew up in a home where movies were banned. No television, no glimpses of silver screens, and no songs echoing from old classics. Stories have a way of finding you, slipping through cracks, whispered between pages, caught in melodies. Sometimes through the corners of borrowed books, sometimes through whispered summaries from classmates, sometimes just through the magnetic pull of posters and songs I wasn’t supposed to hear.

Book Review: The Ultimate Reality by Gian Kumar (Book 3)

His earlier books had shown that in spite of material and digital comforts in the world today, we are still living a life of dualities. Happiness-unhappiness, good-bad, God-devil, all exist side by side. Following spiritual teachings of gurus or masters do not give the much needed solace; there still seems to be something missing. The mind, with its constant chatter and habit of delving into past experiences and anxieties about the future, does not allow to live in the present moment and be aware in the 'now'. By the time our mind can register it, there is already a new 'now' which has taken its place. Here, the author has brought us into a deeper existence, where through experiential realiz...
